Purpose:

Content: The Director of Economic Development and Planning submitted a report seeking authority from Committee to support a part-time post-graduate Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Accredited Planning Degree for one member of staff in the team.   The report further provided Members with an update on the current staffing position within the Council’s planning department.   RESOLVED THAT COMMITTEE:   Confirm funding for an Assistant Planning Officer to complete a part-time (2 year) post-graduate Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Accredited Planning Degree and recommend to Policy and Finance Committee approval of a supplementary estimate of £9,000 for the course fees and travel expenses during the 2026/27 financial year.
