Content: This report sought Cabinet approval for the proposed delivery approach and investment strategy for the £1.5 million Pride in Place Impact Fund (PiPIF). The strategy involves focusing significant capital investment in Margate and Broadstairs, while also allocating a proportion of funding to projects proposed by Town and Parish Councils. Cabinet approved the following: 1. The proposed investment approach to focus the majority of the £1.5 million Pride in Place Impact Fund (PiPIF) investment in Margate and Broadstairs; 2. The Allocation of £100,000 for project identified by Town and Parish Councils; 3. The establishment of a Decision Making Panel to include the MP’s representing the district and relevant Cabinet members; 4. Agree in principle the payment of a £50,000 grant to the Sarah Thorne Theatre on the basis of receiving acceptable proposals for the investment. The grant agreement to be signed by the Head of Regeneration and Growth in consultation with the S151 Officer. The recommended approach ensures the council can effectively and efficiently deliver the £1.5 million Pride in Place Impact Fund allocation by the targeted deadline. Focusing on a limited number of impactful, capital projects will maximise tangible benefits and value for money. An alternative option considered was to pursue a large number of smaller projects distributed across all areas of the district. This was rejected due to the challenges of managing a large number of small projects and the resulting limited tangible impact for the community.
