Purpose: Approval to Fund Substance Misuse Worker with Nottinghamshire County Council

Content: Approval to Fund Substance Misuse Worker with Nottinghamshire County Council   Delegated Decision Ref: 26/20/H     1.     In accordance with the Council’s Scheme of Delegation, the Assistant Director - Housing to fund £79,263.87 to Nottinghamshire County Council for a Substance Misuse Worker with Change Grow Live (CGL) and enter into a Grant Agreement from the 1st of July 2026 until the 31st of March 2028, for the provision of intensive support to homeless people as part of the Mansfield rough sleeper projects; and 2.     The Legal Services Manager be authorised to negotiate, finalise and complete all necessary legal agreements and other documents to give effect to the above. To deliver substance misuse support with Change Grow Live (CGL) for vulnerable service users as part of the Mansfield First Steps and Housing First project.   The funding will provide a full-time post that works alongside the MDC Housing First workers and supported housing project. The funding will be provided from the Rough Sleeping Prevention and Recovery Programme 2026-28, which is ring fenced for this type of project.   Procurement has been conducted by Nottinghamshire County Council and this role will be an extension to their core contract.     MDC has chosen this option due to the provider being the core contract in the County and this will align with existing pathways from this service.
