Decision Maker: Executive Director of Children, Young People and Learning (Daniel Ruaux)

Outcome:

Is Key Decision?: Yes

Is Callable In?: Yes

Purpose: The County Council commissions a range of accommodation and support options to prepare young people aged 16 and over who are in our care or are care leavers for independent living. Accommodation is also provided for eligible 16+ young people including unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC). These services are currently sourced via the Framework for Accommodation and Support for Older Children We Care For and Care Leavers (the Framework), which enables the Council to match individual need with a suitable provider.   The Framework was established in September 2021 for five years with the option to extend for up to a further two years.  The Framework is operating effectively and continues to support sufficiency, quality and value for money. Approval is now sought to exercise the option to extend the Framework for the remaining two years from September 2026.   The agreed initial period of the Framework was 5 years, with the potential to extend the Framework for up to a further 2 years.  The Framework is operating successfully, and it is proposed to seek agreement to extend the framework for the remaining two years.
