Purpose:

Content: The Assistant Director – Digital Data and Technology has approved the direct award of a contract (DN810043) utilising Crown Commercial Services RM6098 Technology Products & Associated Services 2 – Lot 1 for the support and maintenance contract for the NetApp FAS corporate data storage and the NetApp HCI Virtual Server storage and compute systems to NetAPP UK Ltd with effect from 01/05/2026 for a period of one year at a total cost of £150,091.16. The support and maintenance contract for the NetApp FAS corporate data storage and the NetApp HCI Virtual Server storage and compute systems expires on 30th April 2026.   A procurement process has been carried out under the Crown Commercial services There has been a price increase because NetApp raised their prices to resellers.   A one year renewal is proposed to allow the Council maintain services while working to migrate to a cloud-based solution.   Failure to renew would remove the Council’s ability to administer the 300 virtual servers on the estate that provides the council’s corporate services.   Failure to renew in time could incur financial penalties not yet defined by NetApp.   The cost of the contract can be met from the DDAT existing revenue budget.   The alternative is not to procure the support. This would affect the Council’s ability to maintain the corporate servers and data storage in terms of automatic monitoring of the systems for faults, rectification of hardware and software faults, recovery from ransomware attacks, availability of software and security patches for the systems.
