Purpose: The Council designates the Leader of the Council as the Council’s appointed representative on East Midlands Councils, with the Deputy Leader named as the substitute. Following changes in Council leadership in March 2026, the Leader of the Council, Councillor Chrstine Wise, has requested a change to make Councillor Gale Waller the alternative Member rather than the Deputy Leader. The Chief Executive has delegated authority in the Constitution to ‘make and revoke Member appointments to outside bodies in consultation with the Leader.’
