Purpose: That the Design Services Commissioning Manager is authorised to award a contract to undertake a scheme of Reinstatement of Town Hall Shopfronts on Queens Walk in Mansfield.
Content: Town Hall Shopfronts Reinstatement and associated works That the Design Services Commissioning Manager is authorised to award a contract to undertake a scheme of Reinstatement of Town Hall Shopfronts on Queens Walk in Mansfield as detailed in the Exempt Appendix A and to reserve the remainder of the budget for contingencies and unforeseen circumstances. That the Legal Services Manager be authorised to negotiate, finalise and complete all necessary legal agreements, warranties and other documents to give effect to the above. Design Services has been appointed by the Regeneration Programs & Projects Manager as the Employer’s Agent to procure the Contractor and administer the contract. The project is funded by the Townscape Heritage Program (THP) grant. The value of the contract and successful contractor are set out in the exempt appendix. The appendix is exempt for publication under Paragraph 3, Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 because it contains commercially sensitive information. It is not in the public interest to release the information as to do so could jeopardise the procurement process. The option of undertaking no works to the Queens Walk elevation was considered. However, alterations carried out during the mid-20th century resulted in the loss of the original shopfronts, which has negatively affected both the character and appearance of the conservation area, as well as the architectural integrity of the building. If these works are not undertaken, the funding will be lost. For these reasons, this option was discounted.
