Content: Tenancy Charges Write offs   Delegated Decision Ref26/04/DCR   To Write off as Uncollectable Tenancy Charges Totalling as per the attached schedule:   Account Breakdown:   Former Tenant rent                             £33,666.24   Former Tenant court costs                 £1890.00   Current Tenant Debt Relief Orders     £2976.80   Total                                                   £38,533.04       The debts have been identified as irrecoverable having gone through the formal debt recovery process. The debts are normally written off after six months. Although these debts will be written off for accountancy purposes, they will be reinstated should the tenant re-apply to the council for re-housing (subject to statutory time limitations)   To not write off the debt and continue to try and collect through external recovery. This is not considered to be economically viable as all steps to recover the debt internally have been exhausted.
