Purpose: To seek approval of the Domestic Abuse Strategy 2026-32

Content: RESOLVED that the Cabinet: ·       Approves the Domestic Abuse Strategy 2026 -32 and action plan following public consultation. ·       Delegates authority to the Executive Director of People in consultation with the Cabinet member for Housing, Community Safety and Communication and Bracknell Forest Council Armed Forces Champion to make minor changes to the action plan as the strategy progresses. The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 requires local authorities to publish a Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Strategy.  This new domestic abuse strategy includes Bracknell Forest’s response to both support in safe accommodation and wider community-based domestic abuse support.    Domestic abuse is a high-harm, high-profile issue. Cabinet endorsement demonstrates elected-member commitment, strengthens public and survivor confidence, and signals that tackling domestic abuse is a whole-council priority, not solely a Community Safety Partnership initiative.   Due to the recommendations in 4 above, no alternative options have been considered. None.
