Purpose:

Content: The Chief Executive presented a report asking the council to approve the appointment of Assistant Director of Governance, People and Performance, to be designated as the council’s statutory Monitoring Officer, following the conclusion of a recruitment process.   Members were provided with an update on that recruitment process and had been circulated additional information on the successful candidate’s career history. That addendum to the report had also confirmed why it continued to be necessary to keep the identity of the preferred candidate confidential at this time.               Councillor Lury then proposed the recommendation set out in the report which was seconded by Councillor Nash.               Following brief debate,   The council                           RESOLVED   That it confirms the appointment of Claire Beesly to the post of Assistant Director of Governance, People & Performance (Monitoring Officer) in accordance with the council’s constitution.
