Purpose:

Content: RESOLVED   i)               That authority to the Director of Place, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property, to approve the award of the property facilities contracts identified in section 1 of this report (‘the contracts’) to the highest scoring bidders, following evaluation based on a split of 60% quality and 40% price be delegated;   ii)              That authority to the Director of Place, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property and the Head of Legal and Democratic Services, (i) to finalise the terms and conditions of the contracts, including the contract sums, and (ii) to approve the entering into of the contracts be delegated; and   iii)             That authority to the Director of Place, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property and the Head of Legal and Democratic Services, to exercise any of the options to extend the contracts to the extent identified in section 1 of this report and subject to the requirements of the Council’s Procurement Code be delegated.   REASONS   i)               & ii) Open tender procurement exercises are being undertaken and mobilisation of the services is required immediately following the expiry of the existing property facilities contract.   ii)              To provide flexibility to extend the contracts, if required, at a later date.     ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS CONSIDERED BUT REJECTED AS IDENTIFIED IN THE REPORT   Providing a single lot facilities contract. This was rejected due to the specialist expertise required for some of the facilities and the additional cost associated with this being subcontracted.
