Purpose:

Content: To authorise the contracting out of a homelessness review (case reference: 12738) under section 202 of the Housing Act 1996 to Crawley Borough Council.   To delegate authority to the Head of Housing and Community Services to take such steps as are required in connection with the contracting out of the review. Horsham District Council has a duty under section 202 of the Housing Act 1996 to undertake a review of certain decisions relating to the exercise of its homelessness functions when requested to do so by an applicant. Ordinarily, these reviews are undertaken by the Council’s Housing Options Team Leader.   It is not considered appropriate for them to undertake the review in question and no-one else at the Council has the necessary expertise to undertake the review. Horsham District Council to undertake the review. This was rejected for the reasons outlined in the above. None.
