Purpose:

Content: *RESOLVED –   1.   That a full update of the Chesterfield Borough Local Plan be approved to commence in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026.   2.   That the publication of the “Notice of intention to commence local plan preparation” in respect of the Chesterfield Borough Local Plan as required by Regulation 19 of the Regulations, as set out in appendix 1 to the officer’s report, be approved.   3.   That the Scheme of Delegation, set out in appendix 3 to the officer’s report, be agreed.   4.   That authority be delegated to the Director of Economic Growth in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Planning and the Environment to agree detailed arrangement to undertake a Scoping Consultation (Regulation 20) and to publish a summary of the consultation responses (Regulation 22).   5.   That authority be delegated to the Director of Economic Growth in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Planning and the Environment to approve, submit and publish documents for Gateway One self-assessment (Regulation 21).   REASONS FOR DECISIONS   1.   To comply with new plan-making regulations to commence the Local Plan.   2.   To agree decision-making processes to support the council’s ability to meet the government prescribed plan-making period of 30 months.
