Decision Maker: Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources
Outcome:
Is Key Decision?: No
Is Callable In?: Yes
Purpose:
Content: To approve the reconfiguration of Jengers Mead Car Park (‘the Car Park’) to reduce the number of available parking spaces from 17 to 10 as shown in Appendix 1 to this report To approve the necessary works to reconfigure the Car Park and to delegate authority to the Head of Parking and Enterprise to authorise such works To approve the variation of the Horsham District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2023 to reflect the reconfiguration of the Car Park and to delegate authority to the Head of Legal and Democratic Services to make the variation order subject to no objections being received during the consultation process It has come to light that part of the existing car park falls outside of the Council’s land ownership. Acceptable terms could not be agreed with the third-party landowner to enable continued use of this section. The proposed reconfiguration allows the Council to continue operating the car park within the confines of its land ownership, ensuring ongoing provision of parking while avoiding ongoing financial liabilities. To enter into an agreement with the third-party landowner to retain use of the affected section of land. This option was rejected as the financial terms proposed were considered unsuitable and did not represent value for money, particularly given the limited income generated by the car park. None
