Purpose:

Content: Consideration was given to the report on Appointments to Advisory Groups, Other Bodies of the Council, Joint Committees and Outside Bodies, which presented the nominations of the Reform, Liberal Democrat, Labour and Green Groups.   Cabinet was asked to consider nominations so that appointments could be made to the relevant advisory groups, partnerships, joint committees, outside bodies and youth and community organisations for the municipal year.   The following Labour appointments were presented at the meeting verbally via the Monitoring Officer:   Local Bus Board for Gateshead – Cllr S Edge Corporate Parenting Board – Cllr K Henderson Joint Bridges Committee – Cllr S Gibson Mountsett Crematorium Committee – Cllr K McCartney Tyne & Wear Trading Standards Joint Committee – Cllr C Buckley Greenside Community Association – Cllrs S Edge and K McCartney Chopwell Community Association – Cllrs M McNestry and L Caffrey Blackhall Mill Community Association – Cllr L Caffrey Path Head Quarry Liaison Group – Cllr K McCartney   RESOLVED: i)                 That the nominations of the Reform, Liberal Democrat, Labour and Green Groups be agreed.   The above decision was made for the following reasons:   a)                 To ensure that the views of the political groups are considered when the appointments are made. b)                 To ensure that the most appropriate Councillors are appointed to each body.
