Purpose: To seek Cabinet endorsement of updates to the Statement of Community Involvement, which outlines how the Council will engage local communities and other interested parties in the production of the Local Plan, and to recommend that it be formally adopted at Full Council.

Content: To seek Cabinet endorsement of updates to the Statement of Community Involvement, which outlines how the Council will engage local communities and other interested parties in the production of the Local Plan, and to recommend that it be formally adopted at Full Council. (Budget and policy framework)   Resolved:   1)    That Cabinet approves the Statement of Community Involvement 2026 (Report Appendix 1) for a period of public consultation.   2)    That delegated authority is given to the Chief Executive in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning and Infrastructure to make any minor and presentational amendments to the Statement of Community Involvement following public consultation and ahead of adoption.   Recommended to Full Council:   3)    That, where no substantial changes are made following public consultation, Cabinet recommends to Full Council that the Lewes District Council Statement of Community Involvement be adopted at the next relevant Full Council meeting.
