Purpose: Outside bodies are external organisations, including partnerships to which the County Council is a party, which have requested that the County Council appoints an elected member or a representative to them or to which the Council expects or is required to make appointments. The Cabinet is asked to consider the appointments to outside bodies for which appointments which fall to the Cabinet.  Following the County Council elections in May 2026, all previous Outside Body appointments ceased and now require appointment for a new term to align with the County Council’s electoral cycle.

Content: Outside bodies are external organisations, including partnerships to which the County Council is a party, which have requested that the County Council appoints an elected member or a representative to them or to which the Council expects or is required to make appointments. The Cabinet is asked to consider the appointments to outside bodies for which appointments which fall to the Cabinet.  Following the County Council elections in May 2026, all previous Outside Body appointments ceased and now require appointment for a new term to align with the County Council’s electoral cycle. That the following outside body appointments be approved until the next County Council election, with a maximum term of 4 years: 1.   Cllr Jay Mercer and Cllr Nicholas Russell appointed to the Sussex and Brighton Combined County Authority Board. 2.   Cllr Sam Raby and Cllr Jane Davey appointed as substitutes to the Sussex and Brighton Combined County Authority Board. 3.   Cllr Tracie Bangert, Cllr Richard Bates, Cllr Izabela Mayne and Cllr Nicholas Russell appointed to the Chichester Harbour Conservancy. None declared.
