Purpose: The main purpose for the report will be: To approve the establishment of a partnership with relevant councils to develop a Spatial Development Strategy (SDS); To approve the proposed funding and resource allocations for the pre-inception programme; To agree Accountable Body and Host authority arrangements for the SDS; To agree the interim governance, monitoring and assurance arrangements, including arrangements for the period before a statutory Strategic Planning Board/Spatial Planning Board is established through secondary legislation. To agree to the working arrangements for development of the SDS

Content: RESOLVED that the Executive:   1. Approved the establishment of a partnership between the Berkshire Unitary Councils, Oxfordshire Councils and Swindon Borough Council to develop a statutory Spatial Development Strategy (SDS) for the Thames Valley area1    2. Approved the proposed funding and resource allocations for the pre-inception programme, including agreement that Bracknell Forest Council will act as the accountable body for funds received/held on behalf of the partnership and will host any staff appointed for the Thames Valley SDS programme   3. Agreed the interim governance and oversight, monitoring and assurance arrangements set out in this paper, including arrangements for the period before a statutory Strategic Planning Board (SPB) is established through secondary legislation.   4. Agreed to the working arrangements for development of the SDS
