The Cabinet Member advised there were 8,700 boilers in the housing stock and that this contact would ensuring the safety of residents and housing properties.   Alternative options considered and rejected   None, as the Council would be in breach of its requirements under the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998 if it chose not to complete the gas servicing requirements within its housing stock.   Relevant Committee Corporate Resources & Infrastructure Expiry date for any scrutiny call-in / date decision can be implemented (if no call-in) Cabinet’s decisions on this matter can be called in by a majority of the Committee by 5pm, Friday 3 July 2026.
