Purpose:

Content: 1.    Approved an extension of the current Waste Disposal Service Contract with Veolia until 31 March 2036, subject to formal approval by Southampton City Council.  Hampshire County Council formally approved the extension on 24 March 2026 (see appendix 1) 2.    Agreed that delegated authority is given to the Director of Housing, Neighbourhood and  Building Services, in consultation with the Director of Finance and Resources (Section 151 officer) and City Solicitor to conclude the negotiations with Veolia in line with the overall offer set out in the supporting report. 3.    Agreed that delegated authority is given to the Director of Housing, Neighbourhood and  Building Services, in consultation with the Director of Finance and Resources (Section 151 officer) and City Solicitor to agree the contract variation to the Waste Disposal Service Contract required for the above contract extension. 4.    Agreed that delegated authority is given to the Director of Housing, Neighbourhood and  Building Services, in consultation with the Director of Finance and Resources (Section 151 Officer) and City Solicitor to approve any amendments that may be required to the existing Tripartite Agreement to support this programme.
