Purpose: Approval to Fund Supported Housing Strategy Project

Content: To approve the transfer of £55,210 of grant funding from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to Ashfield District Council for 2026-27. This is to fund the mobilisation of a Supported Housing Strategy and Homelessness Action plan for the County districts, based on a County wide proposal for this piece of work.   Ashfield District Council will hold the money on behalf of the County, and the various posts will be funded from this project.   To statutorily comply with legislation that applies to local authorities, requiring MDC to have a supported housing strategy in place by the 31st March 2027, and to comply with the new toolkit that governs Homeless Strategy action plans.   Commissioning out this piece of work has been considered but this will be at a higher cost.
