Is Callable In?: Yes
Purpose:
Content: Consideration was given to the report of the Director of Planning, Housing and Regulatory Services seeking approval of the Homelessness Prevention and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2026 – 2031 and associated action plan for adoption and implementation. Cabinet noted that the Strategy had been subject to consultation and set out the Council’s approach to preventing homelessness, reducing reliance on temporary accommodation and working collaboratively with partners to deliver improved outcomes for residents. Due regard was given to the financial and value for money considerations, the legal implications, including statutory requirements under the Homelessness Act 2002, and the assessment of risk. In recognition of the need to meet statutory duties and provide a robust strategic framework for homelessness prevention, Cllr Taylor proposed, Cllr Betts seconded and Cabinet RESOLVED: That (1) the Homelessness Prevention and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2026 – 2031, as set out at Annex 1 to the report, be approved for adoption and implementation.
Date of Decision: June 30, 2026
