Purpose: The County Council proposed to introduce Mandatory School Keep-Clear Markings outside the entrances to South Charnwood High School, Broad Lane, Markfield. The Markings were advertised due to concerns raised with the School and County Council regarding vehicles parking closely to the school entrance, which were restricting visibility and creating a dangerous environment for children entering and exiting the School.Existing Markings are present at the School entrance, and vehicles will be restricted from parking where new markings are implemented. Restrictions were proposed, between Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm. In addition to the Mandatory School Keep Clear Markings, No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions were also proposed to limit the amount of parking within close proximity of the School gates, to create a safe highway environment allowing for safe passage for all its users.
