Content: The corresponding report of the following item (Minute 1 refers) contains exempt information as defined in Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended). 6 PERMISSION TO RE-TENDER HOME TO SCHOOL TRANSPORT BUS AND TAXI CONTRACTS 2026 – The Director of Communities submitted a report seeking approval to commence the procurement of home-to-school transport services required to fulfil the Council's statutory duties under the Education Act 1996 for the 2026/27 academic year. Approval was sought to undertake a competitive tender exercise for dedicated bus routes and taxi transport contracts due to expire on 31 July 2026, and to delegate authority to the Director of Communities to approve the subsequent contract awards. North Lincolnshire Council had a statutory responsibility to provide home-to-school transport for eligible children and young people in accordance with the Education Act 1996 and the Council's Home-to-School Transport Policy. A detailed breakdown of North Lincolnshire Council's current operation was set out in Section 2.2 of the report. A proportion of the existing transport contracts were due to expire on 31 July 2026 and required re-procurement to ensure continuity of service from September 2026. Resolved – That the approval to undertake a competitive procurement exercise to secure transport provision from September 2026, as set out in the report, be approved.
