Purpose: On 30 July 2026 the Grants Advisory Committee reviewed all Community Chest applications received between 7 June 2026 and 7 July 2026. 9 applications were brought forward in ‘Appendix A’ of the meeting reports pack. After consideration of the application, the Committee recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities that: 1. Melbourn Dynamos Football Club (ZXBWFMHK) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000 2. Northstowe Cricket Club (CVVXKFLV) is not funded but deferred - please see the ‘Other options considered and reasons for rejection’ section. 3. Fen Drayton Bowls Club (SGLFPFWK) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000 4. TLC:Talk Listen Change (JNXVZTMM) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000 5. Graveley Parish Council (JZLBQPHG) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £1,250 6. Gamlingay Leisure (LLFVCDGS) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000 7. Duxford Parish Council (QZLSRNKV) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000 8. With regards to the application from TLC:Talk Listen Change, funding is approved subject to the condition that the grant is used solely for the benefit of South Cambridgeshire residents. The applicant must also ensure that the support available through the project is promoted locally within South Cambridgeshire. In addition, a progress report must be provided six months after the funding is awarded. The applications were considered in detail by the Grants Advisory Committee and there is sufficient budget available. To reject or vary the recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee and decide on the level of funding (£0 - £2,000) to be awarded for each or defer a decision if further information is required from grant applicants. As per above, the application from Northstowe Cricket Club (CVVXKFLV) requesting £2,000 has been deferred, pending more detail on how thewomen’s cricket team will be financed in the future if funding is awarded from the Community Chest and whether Northstowe Town Council could be approached for a funding contribution.
