Purpose: Investigations have shown that the advisory School Safety Zone is not adhered to which is causing visibility issues for the School Crossing Patrol. Inconsiderate and dangerous parking is also occurring at the junctions close to the school causing safety concerns for all road users. It is proposed to revoke the no waiting at any time in front of the layby on Clifton Road as this applies up to the highway boundary so cars could currently receive a penalty charge notice (PCN). The long stretch of parked cars along Toot Lane is causing safety concerns due to their being no passing place for cars travelling north. Cars are often head on which each other and do have to mount the verge to be able to tightly pass, this causes major issues when parking takes place in the verge.
