Purpose: Development Management consultation upon updated planning application validation checklist to include an AI declaration.
Content: Development Management consultation upon updated planning application validation checklist to include an AI declaration. The local validation checklist should be reviewed and republished as required under the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2015 (as amended) Part 3, Article 11 (3) (d). This requires a review every 2 years. The MDDC Validation Guidance Note was last updated in September 2025, however that review did not include provisions for dealing with Artificial Intelligence (AI) when used to support the submission of planning proposals. Prior to adoption the planning authority should publish the draft document for public comment.
