Purpose: The purpose of this report is to seek approval, in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7.7.5, for the award of contract to Harlech Foodservice for the supply of fresh meat and poultry to the Knowsley School Meals Service.   The reason for the decision is that a compliant procurement exercise has been undertaken in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7, and the winning bidder has been identified as providing the most economically advantageous offer to the Council.  

Content: The purpose of this report is to seek approval, in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7.7.5, for the award of contract to Harlech Foodservice for the supply of fresh meat and poultry to the Knowsley School Meals Service.   The reason for the decision is that a compliant procurement exercise has been undertaken in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7, and the winning bidder has been identified as providing the most economically advantageous offer to the Council.   (i)             That, in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7.7.5, a contract be awarded to Harlech Foodservice for the purchase of fresh meat and poultry from 1st September 2026 to the 31st  August 2029 including the option to extend for a further period of up to 24 months to 31st August 2031.   (ii)            That the Procurement Team be authorised to make the necessary arrangements for the issue of the relevant contract documentation.     Do nothing. This option was considered and rejected because the existing contract is due to end on 31st August 2026.    Run a full open procurement exercise: This option was considered and rejected due to the short time frames to complete the exercise.
