Purpose: On the 16th October 2025 the Children and Young People Policy Committee authorised the Director of Education in consultation with the Chair of the Children and Young People Committee to take all steps required to spend £1.178m of project funds for the Henbury Court refurbishment project, including procuring and awarding contracts over the key decision threshold. The award of a construction contract for the refurbishment of Block C at Henbury Court Academy will provide additional specialist educational accommodation and create 30 additional SEND places as part of the Education Capital Programme. The works are funded through Department for Education High Needs Provision Capital funding and support the council's statutory responsibility to provide sufficient school places for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
