Purpose:

Content: The Scrutiny Committee Corporate and Strategic reviewed the Inspiring Innovation Quarterly Update and RESOLVED to note the progress made in delivering the Council's Transformation Programme.   In addition, the Committee requested that the following comments be considered by the Executive as part of the ongoing delivery of the programme:   ·         The Committee requested further information regarding how the Inspiring Innovation Programme, the Building Better Finance Programme and the Council's response to the Best Value Notice will align and avoid duplication of activity, governance and reporting and greater clarity regarding the reporting relationship between programme governance boards and Scrutiny.   ·         The Committee strongly supported the use of live dashboard reporting, where appropriate, to provide Members with the most up-to-date programme information and the provision of verbal updates at meetings where there have been significant developments since the publication of reports.   ·         The Committee requested a written response setting out progress against the original transformation savings assumptions and targets approved as part of the programme, including whether the programme remains on track to deliver the anticipated savings and how these compare with the original projections.   ·         The Committee sought greater clarity regarding how transformation savings are calculated, monitored and evidenced, including assurance that reported savings are deliverable and sustainable.   ·         The Committee requested a future update on the Modern Data and Artificial Intelligence Programme, including progress, outcomes achieved, benefits realised and future opportunities.
