Purpose: Approval is sought for Lancashire County Council to allocate £75,000, from the funding received from National Highways, towards an investigation and any necessary remedial works on the section of highway between Breck Road and the recently resurfaced area south of the A585 signalised junction. This investigation is intended to assess whether this stretch of highway is capable of accommodating the increased demands resulting from the recent changes to the A585, delivered by National Highways. Any required remediation works identified through this process will be funded using the National Highways funding received by the County Council. Authority to take this decision has been delegated to the Head of Service – Highways by the Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport. It is recommended that the Director of Corporate Services is authorised to allocate/ spend £75,000 on an investigation, and necessary works, between Breck Road and the resurfacing works south of the A585 signalised junction.
