Purpose:

Content: The Audit, Governance & Standards Committee approves the appointment of an independent person (IP) for audit business in line with best practice.   This report outlined the benefits and rationale of appointing an independent person and recommended the appointment of an independent person to the Council’s Audit, Governance & Standards Committee for 2026-2028.   Cllr Rigby MOVED and Cllr Sankey SECONDED the recommendation in the report.   Members voted by a show of hands and RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY:   R1.     That the committee agrees to appoint Paul McLoughlin as the Independent Person (Audit) for 2026-2028.
