Purpose: The Fraud Service Annual Report for 2025/26 provides an overview on the work of the Fraud service for the period 01/04/2025 – 31/03/2026.

Content: The Fraud Service Annual Report for 2025/26 provided an overview of the work of the Fraud Service for the period 01/04/2025 – 31/03/2026.   The Chair pointed out the value of this resource.  Mr Dickinson advised that he was reviewing the Fraud and Insurance Service to change its approach from reactive to more proactive and specifically targeted to Brentwood’s needs.   With regard to fraudulent activity, Cllr Thompson requested an indication of the value of fraudulent activity that the Council had been unable to detect.  Mr Dickinson said he would review and inform Cllr Thompson outside of the meeting.   Cllr Rigby MOVED, and Cllr Sankey SECONDED the recommendation in the report.   A vote was taken by a show of hands and Members RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY:             R.1.    That the committee notes the contents of the report.
