Purpose: To provide the Audit and Governance Committee with oversight of the plan for the external audit of the 2025/26 Statement of Accounts.

Content: This report provided the Audit and Governance Committee with oversight of the plan for the external audit of the 2025/26 Statement of Accounts.   Ms Natalie Clark, External Auditor, E&Y, was present at the meeting and introduced the report.   Members raised the issue of AI being used in the preparation of the audit going forward.  Ms Clark confirmed that AI would be used next year via a secure platform but would be subject to supervision.   Following a full debate, Cllr Rigby MOVED, and Cllr Sankey SECONDED the recommendation in the report.   A vote was taken by a show of hands and Members RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY:     R1.     That the Committee notes the contents of the report.
