Purpose: Re-determine admission arrangements for the 2027/28 academic year for community and voluntary controlled primary and secondary schools following an OSA ruling.
Content: RESOLVED that the Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Health; · Notes the OSA requested changes from the Determination Report ADA4602 – Appendix A · Agrees the annual admission arrangements for 2027/28 as set out in Appendix B. · The LA has a statutory duty to determine its admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools in its area annually, ensuring they are fit for purpose for the community and comply with the School Admissions Code 2021. · The 2027/28 admission arrangements were determined in February 2026, in line with the statutory timeframes of the School Admissions Code 2021. · Once determined, interested parties are permitted to submit objections to the OSA in respect of the determined arrangements, where they do not feel they comply with the School Admissions Code. · One objection was received by the OSA, and following its investigation, the OSA has requested some minor changes to the arrangements for the 2027/28 academic year. · It is a requirement to formally re-determine admission arrangements where a change has been made. None. It is a statutory requirement for the Local Authority to comply with an OSA ruling and to re-determine the admission arrangements following any changes. None.
