Purpose:

Content: The Chief Executive submitted a report on the proposed Public Health Act Funerals Policy/Procedure, which set out the Council’s statutory duties under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 and the procedures for dealing with public health funeral referrals and arrangements. The need for a formal policy to provide a clear framework for officers in carrying out these duties was noted.   RESOLVED THAT COMMITTEE:   1.         Approve the proposed policy ‘Public Health Act Funerals Policy/Procedure.   2.         Permit the Head of Environmental Health to make amendments to the policy as necessary, without the need for committee approval.
