Purpose: To seek approval to accept and utilise the ‘Delivering Better Value in SEND’ grant awarded by the Department for Education by approving and entering the Memorandum of Understanding.    

Content: To seek approval to accept and utilise the ‘Delivering Better Value in SEND’ grant awarded by the Department for Education by approving and entering the Memorandum of Understanding.     In coming to this decision, Cllr Philip Robinson, Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Bus Transport, has given due and full regard to the requirements of the public sector equality duty contained in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 (“the Act”) by reference to the law itself and also the relevant Equality Impact Assessment, which was prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Act.   Having fully considered all the available information, Cllr Robinson has decided to reject the alternative options and take the recommended decision to:   1.    Approve receipt of the ‘Delivering Better Value in SEND’ implementation grant.   2.    Approve the Council entering into the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Education to deliver the Delivering Better Value in SEND Programme.   3.    Delegate authority to the Director of Education in consultation with Cllr Robinson, as Cabinet Member for Education, Skills, and Bus Transport, to utilise the Delivering Better Value in SEND grant funding to implement the projects described in the background section of the cabinet decision report.   for the reasons set out in the report
