Purpose: On 29 July 2024 the Grants Advisory Committee reviewed 20 Rural England Prosperity Fund applications received. The applications were brought forward in Appendix A of the meeting reports pack. Of these, 16 applications were of Level 2 value; this notice provides details of the decisions regarding these applications. After consideration of these applications, the Committee recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member for Resources that: 1. Dry Drayton School and Village Association (QWWJQXTC) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £10,000. 2. Harston Village Hall (CHXLZQLL) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £10,000. 3. Duxford Parish Council (BTQPRKPC) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £10,230. 4. Weston Colville Reading Room and Recreation Ground (BFZFTDRM) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £20,348. 5. Bourn Parish Council (MDSLBDLJ) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £23,000. 6. Fen Drayton Parish Council (NTVSLPRV) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £25,000. 7. The George Long Charity for Swavesey Memorial Hall (PKZGJSGW) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £25,000. 8. Sweetie Factory (LZWTCBMQ) be deferred, pending further information -please see the ‘Other options considered and reasons for rejection’ section. 9. The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey (JVXSLRMK) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £18,500. 10. Novahub Ltd (QWZWMFVC) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £22,861. 11. Lord Conrads Brewery (RPDXTLWK) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £23,200. 12. Hope Against Poverty CIC (SQLSNZVD) be deferred, pending further information -please see the ‘Other options considered and reasons for rejection’ section. 13. Bartlow Estate (BZNSCFHP) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £25,000. 14. The Linton Kitchen (RLWDMVTW) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £25,000. 15. Maggie’s Farm (LDMSKBCZ) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £25,000. 16. Fired Up Pizza (JFNFCCTT) be deferred, pending further information -please see the ‘Other options considered and reasons for rejection’ section. Following the recommendations of deferral, officers provided updated information to the Grants Advisory Committee at the meeting held on 01 August 2024. The Committee was satisfied with the information presented to them and recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member for Resources that: Sweetie Factory (LZWTCBMQ) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £12,836. Hope Against Poverty CIC (SQLSNZVD) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £24,770. Fired Up Pizza (JFNFCCTT) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £25,000.

To accept the recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee (see above). The applications were considered in detail by the Grants Advisory Committee and there is sufficient budget available. To reject or vary the recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee and decide on the level of funding (£0 - £25,000) to be awarded for each or defer a decision if further information is required from grant applicants. As per above, the application from Sweetie Factory (LZWTCBMQ) is to be deferred to seek more information regarding the details of the business and expansion plans, the premises and whether the machines to be funded were appropriate for use in a residential business setting. This information was subsequently presented to the Committee, to their satisfaction. As per above, the application from Hope Against Poverty CIC (SQLSNZVD) is to be deferred to seek more information regarding the details of the lease and landownership, who would undertake the work and how feasible the plan was, as well as if there were any requirements for a change of use application to be granted before the land could be used as a community farm/for agricultural purposes. This information was subsequently presented to the Committee, to their satisfaction. As per above, the application from Fired Up Pizza (JFNFCCTT) is to be deferred to seek more information regarding the specific mobile pizza oven quoted, as well as further details on the company’s business plan and forecasts. This information was subsequently presented to the Committee, to their satisfaction.
