Purpose:
Content: Consideration was given to the report of the Assistant Director of Environmental Services, as contained on pages 359 386 of the Book of Reports, which sought authority to spend the Transitional Capital funding through Section 31 grants received from DEFRA on 11 April 2024, for the procurement of new vehicles, to deliver mandatory food waste collections on a non-ring-fenced basis. RESOLVED: That the Assistant Director of Environmental Services be authorised to procure specialised food waste vehicles and food containers to deliver mandatory food waste collections by 31 March 2026. The cost of which will be taken from the capital grant payment of £1,072,995 from DEFRA under Section 31 of the Local Government Act.
