Purpose:

Content: The Executive was informed that a programme for planned preventative maintenance works and roof works had been fully scoped and costed over a 5-year period (2023-2027) to future proof the infrastructure of The Square Shopping centre.    The key projects of the planned maintenance programme would ensure Health & Safety and Fire Systems compliance in the following areas:   •      Roof repair / replacement as appropriate of circa 38 different roofs; •      Replacement / overhaul of smoke vents system; •      Sprinkler survey followed by repair/replacement; •      LED lighting upgrades.   RESOLVED that authority be delegated to the Head of Property & Economic Development in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Property & Economic Development and the Strategic Director Finance & Customer Services to enter into a contract for the necessary work to implement sprinkler head testing and replacement of the failed frost protection and associated works at a budget of up to the amount set out in the exempt report, including fees and contingency.
