Content: Proposal: Advertisement consent for single aluminium pole of 2.9m height topped by a 1.5m (h) x 1m (w) x 55mm (d) fabricated aluminium panel detailing the business name.   The Planning Manager submitted a report which was subject to a site visit by the planning committee on 25 November 2024.   Slides were displayed on screen showing: location context plan, site location, BOC yard and signage.   The Planning Manager drew Members attention to the update report highlighting that the date on Condition 8 should read 27 November 2024 and for the revised wording of the recommendation.   The Planning Manager recommended that the application be approved subject to the conditions, with delegated authority to be given to the Assistant Director of Inclusive Growth and Placemaking to add to and/or make any amendments to the conditions as considered appropriate.   Following consideration of the application a Member moved to accept the Officer’s recommendation. This was seconded and following voting it was unanimously agreed.   RESOLVED – that the application be approved subject to the conditions set out below with delegated authority given to the Assistant Director of Inclusive Growth and Placemaking to add to and/or make any amendments to the conditions as considered appropriate.   Conditions   1.    Any structure or hoarding erected or used principally for the purpose of displaying advertisements shall be maintained in a condition that does not endanger the public.   Reason: In order to comply with the provisions of the Town & Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007 and in the interests of public safety.   2. Any advertisement displayed, and any site used for the display of advertisements, shall be maintained in a condition that does not impair the visual amenity of the site.   Reason: In order to comply with the provisions of the Town & Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007 and in the interests of public safety.   3. No advertisement shall be sited or displayed so as to: (a) endanger persons using any highway, railway, waterway, dock, harbour or aerodrome (civil or military); (b) obscure, or hinder the ready interpretation of, any traffic sign, railway signal or aid to navigation by water or air; or (c) hinder the operation of any device used for the purpose of security or surveillance or for measuring the speed of any vehicle.   Reason: In order to comply with the provisions of the Town & Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007 and in the interests of public safety.   4. Any means of illumination from the advertisement hereby approved shall be static with no intermittent illumination.   Reason: In the interests of the visual amenity of the site.   5. The sign(s) permitted by this consent shall only be illuminated during the opening hours of the premises to which it/they relate(s).   Reason: To restrict the illumination to the opening hours to safeguard the amenity of other residential properties in the locality of the site, in accordance with the National Planning Policy Framework and Policy S32 of the Allerdale Local Plan (Part 1), Adopted July 2014.   6. No advertisement is to be displayed without the permission of the owner of the site or any other person with an interest in the site entitled to grant permission.   Reason: In order to comply with the provisions of the Town & Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007.   7. Where an advertisement is required under these regulations to be removed, the site shall be left in a condition that does not endanger the public or impair visual amenity.   Reason: In order to comply with the provisions of the Town & Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007 and in the interests of public safety and visual amenity.   8. The consent hereby given shall run for the term of 5 years from the inception of the display or from the date 27 November 2024 whichever is earlier subject to compliance with the following conditions.   Reason: This is the maximum period for which consent can be granted.   9. The development hereby permitted shall be carried out solely in accordance with the following plans: Site Location Plan Signage Plan Application Form Amended Plan JIL-BOB-001-P11 Proposed BOC Yard Area   Reason: In order to ensure that the development is carried out in complete accordance with the approved plans and any material and non-material alterations to the scheme are properly considered
