Purpose: This report seeks permission to enter into a new contract with Lloyds Bank Cardnet.

Content: Resolved - The Cabinet Member for Resources awarded the contract for merchant acquiring services to Lloyds Bank Cardnet.   Reasons For Decision   A Merchant Acquiring Services contract is required to ensure that the Council can continue to receive income from customers by card.  The proposed new contract will maintain current service standards and will generate a price reduction for the service.     Alternative Options Considered And Rejected   The alternative would be to not have a contract.  This was rejected as card payments to the Council are an increasing proportion of overall income and enables customers to make payments more easily.
