Content: The report outlines the proposal for Essex County Council to prepare an Air Quality Strategy (AQS) for the whole of Greater Essex (Essex County, districts and boroughs and Southend and Thurrock Unitary authorities). The AQS is intended to be a joint strategy and Essex are requesting that the partner organisations agree to be named in the draft AQS consultation documents that are being prepared for public consultation. A document will be circulated to members of the maps for monitoring. The Chair asked Members to inform Mr Carter of any hot spot sites they feel are most affected for monitoring in the Borough. Cllr Aspinell MOVED and Cllr Worsfold SECONDED the recommendations in the report. A vote was taken by a show of hands and it was RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY to: R1. Note the contents of the report and the draft Air Quality Strategy consultation document. R2. Agree that Brentwood Borough Council should be represented as a partner organisation with other districts, boroughs and unitary authorities working jointly with Essex County Council to develop and implement the Strategy.
