Purpose: To: (i) Consider objections to the advertised proposals for parking controls on various roads in Devizes. (ii) Recommend the making of the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) with minor amendments to the advertised proposal.

(ii) Recommend the making of the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) with minor amendments to the advertised proposal. INTENTION TO MAKE DECISION Following consultation with officers I give notice that I intend to make the decision set out in the attached report. If you would like to make any representations to me on this issue, please do so by 27 December 2024. The proposals are intended to improve road and pedestrian safety and to allay concerns of safety expressed by residents. The proposal has the support of the locally elected members, both Wiltshire Council and Devizes Town Council, Local Highway Footway Improvement Group and Area Board. To: (i) Implement the proposals as advertised. (ii) Not implement the proposals. (iii) Implement the proposals with amendments. Consultation has been undertaken with: The elected Wiltshire Council Member through the statutory TRO consultation process. The elected Devizes Town Council through the statutory TRO consultation process Members of the Devizes Local Highways & Footways Improvement Group (LHFIG) Emergency services through the statutory TRO consultation process Members of the public through the statutory TRO consultation process The proposed TROs were subject to formal consultation between 9th May and 3rd June 2024. During the consultation period a total of nine items of correspondence were received in response to the Council’s proposals. Of these, six were in objection, one in support and two made general comments. The proposal has been developed following prioritisation by the Devizes Local Highways & Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG) and endorsement by Devizes Area Board.
