Purpose: To seek approval to sign the COP charter to affirm our dedication to creating a sustainable and equitable future for Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent.

Content: Agreed (i) - That Cabinet gives approval for the City Council to sign the Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent COP (Celebration of the Possible) charter to affirm its dedication to creating a sustainable and equitable future for the area. Agreed (ii) - That Cabinet notes that work has commenced to develop a Climate and Sustainability Strategy, which will build on the work already underway across a range of programmes including energy generation and efficiency, public transport, active travel, air quality, nature recovery and tree planting, and which will draw together existing interventions and projects as well as setting priorities and objectives for the future.
