Purpose:

Content: Following concerns raised by the respondent, all parties agreed that the hearing should be held in private and requested that the public be excluded from the meeting. A motion moved by Councillor Beardmore and seconded by Councillor Davison, “that under Section 100(A) (4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting at this point in the proceedings on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 Schedule 12(A) of such Act, as now amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) Order 2006.” was carried. The Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider an application for the review of a premises licence under Section 51 of the Licensing Act 2003.  The review was requested by a member of the public and related to each of the licensing objectives, namely, the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of public nuisance and protection of children from harm. The consultation period for this application ran from 20 November 2024 until 18 December 2024, during which, seven representations were received.  Four were in support of the premises and three were in support of the review application. All parties present were given an opportunity to address the Licensing Sub-Committee and it was:
