Purpose:

Content: To recommend the Statement of Community Involvement 2025 For adoption at Full Council on 8 July 2025. 2.1       A SCI sets out how councils will involve and engage with local communities, businesses and other interested parties in the preparation of planning policy documents and determining planning applications. Local authorities are required by legislation to review their SCI at least every 5 years.   2.2       The previous SCI was published in August 2020; therefore, a revised SCI has been prepared.    2.3       Following a period of consultation amendments to the draft SCI document have been made where appropriate. The final SCI document is due to be submitted to Full Council for adoption on 8 July. None – to not produce a new SCI would mean that we do not meet the requirements to review it every 5 years and do not have an up-to-date SCI document.
