Content: To seek Cabinet approval to delegate authority to adopt the annual Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS) update, ensuring the needs assessment and strategic recommendations regarding outdoor playing pitches is up to date. Recommendation(s) 1.1 That Cabinet approves the June 2023 PPS (2021-2040) update (Appendix 1 and 2) 1.2 That Cabinet approves the PPS update for 2024 (Appendix 3 and 4) that will be utilised to inform grant funding, planning policy and developer contributions. 1.3 That Cabinet supports the updated PPS being published on the City Council’s website as a public document, replacing the current strategy from 2023. That Cabinet delegates authority to the Corporate Director of Public Health, Protection and Wellbeing (DPHPW), to approve all Stage E annual reviews and updates (where applicable) to the PPS 2021-2040 and to publish the Stage E annual update each year, through to the end of the strategy’s lifespan in 2040.
