Purpose:

Content: Decision made:   1.    To provide an interim award of a grant to Citizens advice Lancashire West, to support core costs for provision of advice services within South Ribble District   2.    That the total amount of grant to be provided is £12,500   3.    That this grant covers April – June 2025   Reasons for decision:   4.    The grant will ensure continuity of advice services within the Borough, by contributing to the core costs of the current provider for advice services in South Ribble.   5.    It provides an interim level of support whilst a commissioned approach is undertaken including a market test of available advice services.   Other options considered and rejected: 6.    We could determine not to award a grant for the period, however this may impact the access to impartial advice services within the Borough.   7.    We could provide a grant for the full 12 month period, however the Council is seeking to develop a commissioned approach, which will take a different approach to how advice Services are funded in South Ribble. If a grant was provided for the full period it would limit the ability to commission within the current financial year.
