Purpose:

Content: The Head of Townships and Libraries introduced a report that provided information regarding the Township revenue funding available for 2025/26.   It was explained that the five Townships in Rochdale Borough had devolved funding available to allocate to support organisations and projects that directly benefited the communities and environments in each respective Township.   The funds were to be used in line with the Council’s Corporate Plan priorities: People, Place and Planet.   During the discussion, the importance of understanding the totality of public spend in each Township area was highlighted.    In addition, the public awareness and promotion of available funds was discussed.  Some concern was expressed that often repeat applicants accessed Township funding and that possibly resources could be more strategically.   The Director of Public Health and Communities agreed to give further consideration to the points raised during the Neighbourhood Programme of work that was being undertaken.   Resolved:   That the Township Revenue Funds report be noted.   That it be noted the Township Revenue Funding allowed the allocation of devolved funds locally to support projects that addressed specific needs in respective communities.   That the Director of Public Health and Communities be requested to give further consideration to the points raised during the Neighbourhood Programme of work that was being undertaken.
